Abe has been an off roader all his life. One day he just got tired of getting stuck, and having to use traditional, timely, and tiresome methods such as shovels and wenches to get out. He came up with an idea of a sandmat mostly because it was something he could use when he was by himself. Two years in development. First designs where made of steel and then fiberglass. Both models were too heavy and too costly to make. Neither was flexible.  Finally developed the current version made of HDPE. It was light weight, flexible and could be made at a lower cost. The bolt design also took time to develop. The spacing had to be perfect so that the bolts didn’t damage the tires. Came out with the product in summer of 2003. Initially sold at off road expos, various tradeshows, and a booth at the Dunes in CA. Received quite a few good reviews and are not sold mostly through dealers.
